A: Sushi Mio is my favorite restaurant, they have amazingly fresh and wonderful food. We just love supporting them.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Johns Creek?
A: I think it’s my doctor…Dr. James Dougal. He is very inspirational; he was the Doctor for the 2006 Olympics, he has people knowledge and has worked with people of different cultures from all over the world. He always has something unique to share and he’s a mentor of my kids. He has become part of our family over the years. We just love him!
Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
A: I was in Corporate Retail District Management for 25 years. I worked for a lot of large department stores in many capacities from the store side, to buying, to running the costumer service programs. When I decided to leave the retail business, I was looking for another job and found I couldn’t get hired. For about a year, I had been interviewing with companies; I had lots of experience and but I guess I was was too expensive. As a side job, I answered an ad and found a client in St. Ives. She needed help with various things around the house such as organizing, picking up packages and taking her kids here and there to keep them busy. At that time, we knew we were moving to Johns Creek and I wanted to get familiar with the area, so i accepted the job. I worked for that family for a year and when no longer needed me, she referred me to her neighbor. I helped her neighbor start packing for a big move that they were making and at that point, my thought was, “I could make some money doing this”. I found all the elements that I love about my retail experience and I can do what I love on my terms. I don’t mind rolling up my sleeves and getting my hands dirty.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Banff Canada, I think I am more a little bit at peace when I can see mountains, rivers and sunshine, grass and snow. I like the idea of multi-seasonal scenery.
Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: Stand By Me. The movie was so inspirational; I’ve always said that it was my favorite movie.
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: Live your best life… truly, stop, breathe and listen to your heart. If you really stop and think of it for a minute, it really is what we’re supposed to be doing and I really feel doing like I am doing that now. I used to always work for a paycheck and somebody else. I always tried my best and worked my heart out. I gave everything I had for a very long time. I worked hard to be good at it. Now, I am living, breathing, listening to my heart. Now I work for myself and doing what I am passionate about…that’s living!

A: I really want to be an audience member at SNL (Saturday Night Live).
Q: What is your favorite music/band that you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: My favorite band is the band Kiss. What I like about them is not just their look, but it’s all about their story. I just like the business story of the band part of it.
